Shipping Policy

How we pack, dispatch and deliver freshly made Indian sweets — and what we do when a delivery does not arrive the way it left our kitchen.

Last updated: [[POLICY_LAST_UPDATED]]

Please Read First: Our Sweets Are Perishable

Indian mithai is made with milk solids, ghee, nuts and sugar and carries no added preservatives. It is a fresh food product, not a shelf-stable packaged good. Shipping it is genuinely different from shipping a book, and this policy exists so there are no surprises at your door.

1. Freshness and Shelf Life

Orders are made close to dispatch rather than pulled from long-term stock. Each box carries its date of manufacture and a best-before date on the label.

  • Typical shelf life at the time of delivery: [[SHELF_LIFE_DAYS]]. Milk-based sweets sit at the shorter end of that range; dry-fruit and besan sweets at the longer end.
  • Item-specific shelf life is printed on every box and shown on the product page before you order.
  • Refrigerate on arrival unless the label says otherwise, and bring sweets to room temperature before serving.

2. Packaging and Cold Chain

Sweets are set in food-grade trays, sealed, and cushioned inside an outer carton so the pieces do not shift in transit. Where an item needs temperature control, we pack it in an insulated liner with gel packs and route it on a shorter service.

Outside those areas

We only ship items that travel safely without refrigeration. Chilled sweets such as rasgulla, rasmalai and fresh chhena preparations are not dispatched to non-cold-chain destinations, and will not be offered at checkout for those pincodes.

3. Dispatch and Delivery Windows

Lead time is confirmed in writing when your order is accepted. Please raise these well ahead of the date you need them.

Orders placed after the cut-off, on a Sunday or on a public holiday are prepared on the next working day. During Diwali, Raksha Bandhan and the wedding season, dispatch may take longer than usual; the delay is announced on the checkout page before you pay.

4. Serviceable Areas

We currently deliver to [[SERVICEABLE_CITIES]]. Enter your pincode at checkout to confirm serviceability and to see which items can travel to you.

  • If your pincode is not serviceable, checkout will tell you before payment is taken.
  • We do not currently ship sweets outside India.
  • Deliveries to hospitals, hostels, gated campuses and offices with restricted access may be handed over at the reception or gate.

5. Shipping Charges

Charged separately where applicable and shown as a distinct line item before payment.

The exact amount payable for your order, including all delivery and packing charges and applicable taxes, is always displayed on the checkout page before you confirm.

6. Address Accuracy and Delivery Attempts

Because the goods are perishable, a failed delivery usually cannot be re-attempted the next day with the same box.

  • Please give a complete address, a landmark and a phone number that will be answered on the delivery day.
  • Our delivery partner will attempt delivery and call you on the number provided. If nobody is reachable, the parcel may be left with a neighbour or returned.
  • Orders returned because the address was incorrect or nobody was available cannot be refunded, as the sweets can no longer be sold. We will tell you honestly if this happens rather than reship silently.

7. Damaged, Melted or Spoiled Deliveries

If your order arrives crushed, leaking, melted out of shape, or spoiled, we will make it right. What we need from you:

  1. 1.Tell us within [[DAMAGE_REPORT_WINDOW_HOURS]] of delivery — call [[BUSINESS_PHONE]] or write to [[BUSINESS_EMAIL]] with your order number.
  2. 2.Send photographs of the outer carton, the shipping label and the sweets as you found them, before discarding anything.
  3. 3.Please do not eat anything you suspect has spoiled.

Once verified, we will replace the affected items on the next available dispatch or refund them, at your preference. Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within [[REFUND_WINDOW_DAYS]].

Please note: minor softening, a little sweating inside the box, sugar crystallisation, or vark shifting slightly are normal effects of transporting fresh mithai and are not treated as damage. Full refund limits for perishable goods are set out in our Terms & Conditions.

8. Tracking Your Order

You will receive a tracking reference by SMS and email once your order leaves our kitchen. You can also follow it from the tracking page at any time.
